How to resolve "No previous employment details found against this UAN" error and the but to unable to enter alphanumeric value (00E) in "Enter Extension" field


The scenario:

As of today i.e. 03-Jan-2018, if you are trying to submit an online transfer and your previous employers PF was managed by an exempted trust you will face an bug(I think it is a bug) in the system.

The bug:

In the first section named "Step 1: Select details of previous accounts (which are to be transferred)" you'll find a button named "Get MID".
Upon clicking on that button in the popup you'll find an input field with label "Enter Extension".
In that text input field, you won't be able to enter any value other than numeric fields.
As for the exempted trusts, the EPF number usually consists of an "Extension Number" like "**E".
But that field won't allow you to enter that alphanumeric value.

The outcome:

Because of this bug, all the member whose previous employer PF is managed by an exempted trust they are unable to select the Previous Account.

The workaround:

The workaround to this situation is to enter your UAN in the field with label "Member ID / UAN".
Then click on "Get Details" button.

Here If everything works perfectly you should be able to select the previous account.

But I faced some challenges there.

Problem 1.

When I clicked on the "Get Details" button I used to get the error "No previous employment details found against this UAN".

Solution:
Contact your previous employer and asked them to add the details for "DOE EPF" and "DOE EPS".
After they add those details you can verify the same in "View -> SERVICE HISTORY" page.
Now you are one step closer to your goal.

Problem 2.

After solving the Problem 1, you'll face an error "Trust details are not available against this member ID.".

Solution:
Contact your previous employer about this issue and they will add the Trust Details with the member ID.

Final Conclusion:

Using this workaround you'll be able to submit your online transfer claim even when the bug is not allowing you to select the previous account.

    1. No.As per my knowledge, till now the case you are stating it is not possible to transfer online. You'll have to submit manual claims.

    2. You can transfer even if the UAN are different.Just update the DOJ and DOE of your previous employer and while raising transfer request give your member id.

  4. I am getting this error "Details of pervious account and different than current. Hence claim cannot be processed" What could be the issue?
    I have 2 diff UAN, I have the DOE updated from previous employer.

    1. As per my understanding, if you have two different uan, which should not be the case but many times it happened with many people, you'll have to submit manual claim by filling form 13 by hand send 3,4 copies to your current organisation they will keep two copies and attested two copies for you or them to send to your previous organisation and there they will attest and submit to the pf office. The process may vary a little case to case depending upon the exempt status of your previous and current organisation's.

  5. My previous company not updating the Last date of leaving, due to this i revived this message No previous employment details found against this UAN. What should i do. Can i compliant to pf office for last company throgh mail??

    1. There is Grievance portal for PF related issues you can register a grievance here.
      https://epfigms.gov.in/homepage.aspx
      If this does not help then send a message in Facebook to EPFO social handler. https://www.facebook.com/socialepfo/

      They might give you some contact to register you complaint.

    1. Not sure what exactly is the problem here. But if you are facing to much problem online its better to submit offline claim by filling form 13. Believe me i have waited almost 2 years but the system didn't improve. Just submit a offline claim its better that way.

  10. Can previous organization update the trust details? I'm being told that they are yet to receive update from the PF office.

In my case the same thing happened they directly said it wont be possible to map the trust details with my EPF account so they suggested me to submit a manual claim by filing Form 13 and getting it attested by the current employer and send it to previous employer. Sorry for the late reply. Hope this helps.

  11. Hi Sarnendu - is there any wayout how i can check if trust details are updated or not, because i am facing this same issue. as per my previous employer they have updated the TRUST details but system is still showing same error.

    1. Sorry I faced the same problem , the problem with my previous organisation was they maintained a separate pf no and the said can not be linked with my EPF account. So they asked me to submit a manual claim for the same. Its best to submit manual claim (Submitting filled Form 13 to you current organisation getting it attested and send it to your previous organization) for the cases of exempted trusts. Hope this helps.

    Were you able to successfully transfer your old PF account to your current PF account? If yes, are you able to view the transferred amount in your current PF account?

    My EPF from previous employers have already been transferred under my current employer UAN Passbook, however I did not see my previous employers details under the EPFO portal > Service History and now when I am trying to transfer online, I am getting an error: No previous employment details found against this UAN.     Am having 2 employers in one UAN and want to transfer money from my previous employer to another account. All the exit dates are already updated in the previous employer account but am getting an error, ‘Details of previous account is different than current hence cannot he processed’

    Thanks. It is a very useful post. The issue for me was that the DOE was not updated by the previous employer. I followed up with previous employer and then I could submit the claim form.

  23. I already claimed the pf and pension from mg last employer. My pf and pension was not tranferred from my previous employer to my last employer as my previous one was a trust. Now I sent all the doc manually to mh previous employer and they claimed PF. However they said the pension I need to claim online. But when I try to claim only pension it automaticallt takes the last employer pf account which is alreaded settled and I do not get any option to select the previous employer hence unable to claim. What can be done in this case?

  30. Faced similar incident the way you mentioned above, but once we "MARK EXIT", by default "DOE EPF" and "DOE EPS" is reflected, still one encounter with the same errors.
    The staffs of Genius Consultants Ltd., unit of Kolkata is the worst, not a single employees are helpful and knowledgeable enough to guide you through the PF withdrawal procedure. Gone through hell during this pandemic!

Hi Sarnendu,I worked with TCS then IBM and now Accenture.My PF bakance transferred to IBM which reflects in my passbook.now while trying to transfer IBM PF to Accenture,the claim rejected saying -EPS Service details not updated for first service tenure".I had no visibility on EPS and I thought with PF transfer,eps also transferred.EPFO asking for EPS annexure K which I don't have,but I have PF annexure K.What should I do now ?
